One of the stamps in Ireland's 2013 (4th series) set of 8 computer-vended stamps featuring native animals depicts the black-legged kittiwake (Rissa tridactyla).

Note that these 2 stamps are from different sources. The stamp on the left is from a post office machine. It shows the number of the stamp from the coiled roll (576) in the lower right corner. The printer used was an Epson TM J7500 thermal printer.

The stamp on the right is from a postal kiosk machine, as found in malls and airports. The printers on these machines (Wincor Nixdorf thermal) did not number the stamps from the coil roll.

This 60c Irish definitive features a golden eagle (Aquila chrysaetos). A closer image of the bird was used on one stamp in Ireland's first series of 8 "animals and marine life" computer-vended stamps in 2010. The golden eagle is a large raptor of the northern hemisphere. An adult bird weighs from 5.5 lbs. for males to 7.2 lbs. for females.

That picture must have been taken at Avifauna. Or does that not exist any more?

Hi Peter no its not from Avifauna.
Avifauna still exists.
A few years ago there were birds from avifauna stolen, later they found a few in the province of Noord Brabant,
the birds need very special food to survive, the birds were very rare.
Thiefs do anything for money.
I hope the birds are still alive!
The picture comes from internet, and the stamps were made for postage to my very good relation in New Zealand.
