Hi guys

Sent this to BNAPS also, but wanted your opinion on this possible re-entry...See pictures below.

Just heard back from BNAPS saying it might be a re-entry..exciting.

Robert

Hey WERT, looks like 2 different printings. Look at Torch flames on left hand side and Period of St. Johns.

NFLD 153 and NFLD 169/179

Always nice to see a new re-entry on an issue unknown for re-entries!
Yes, I would appreciate 1200-2400dpi scans of this one!

Robert,

Just make sure you correctly identify the stamp for Ralph. Is it 153, 169 or 179? I see some definite differences, and it still could be common for one or the other. (I don't have any examples of mine to check, unfortunately.)

Good luck.

Looking at the few I have the extra frame lines are present on #153. They are absent on #169 and #179.

That is the problem I am having with the so called extra line...I give Ralph more credit than people have of him..He is NOT an armature and if he realizes it as a possible re-entry..good.

I as partime indicated that they are 2 different stamps, but I just wanted to show Ralph that (even if it is 2 different stamps) or where the extra lines are located...If you guys and Ralph say that is normal for a Scott 179 then good, I will withdraw my post...No problem.

Robert

I am thoroughly confused here. The stamp you show which you are showing with doubled lines is a #153. The title of your thread says a re-entry on #179. The stamp you are using to show a stamp without doubling is either a #169 or #179. Are you saying you have a #179 that shows the same doubled line that exists on #153?

By the way I have known Ralph Trimble for over 30 years. And shared stamps with him through the mail prior to it becoming easier to do with e-mail. I have great respect for my friend.

Mike..I am going to double check that right now..and ya, Ralph is a nice guy and has always treated me good to.

My mistake, the left stamp is a Scott 179 and the right stamp is a Scott 153.

Hey Wert, I double checked all 8 copies of my NFLD 153, and they all have that extra line.

No problems. Please make sure that Ralph knows. He and I had the same issue with a Great Britain stamp once.
