Today I got a nice addition to my topical collection of runes and runestones: this first day cover of Denmark #342 (Scott), which features one side of Harald's Stone at Jelling, with a cachet showing the other side. The stone was raised in the 10th century by King Harald Bluetooth in memory of his parents and celebrates his conquest of Denmark and Norway and his conversion of the Danes to Christianity.
