Hi everyone!

Long time lurker and occasional commenter on the coin community side ( although it's been a while)

Looking for some help, direction or advice.

I've been given my grandmothers and my mothers stamp collection

Let me state immediately say that I can't imagine that either are worth much at all, but one can hope.

Neither are organized

The below description is a guess since I haven't spent much time looking at them

From my grandmother, the initial look has
Lots of cancelled worldwide stamps from maybe the 50s to 70s
Bunch of worldwide stamps purchased from a "stamp store" that look new or a few look good in cancelled condition probable in the 50s to 60s
Plates of us stamps from the 60s -70s
And 1 fdc

From my mom
An album "the fully illustrated universal stamp album". C 1952 scattered with both worldwide and us stamps
Some 1c postcards
10c envelopes
Asst others
And a couple fdcs

Of course this adds to my fdcs that I know are pretty much worthless

I know without pics it's difficult. So what pics do you want to see?

Again I'll say that I don't imagine that there is much worth here
So I don't want to spend a bunch of time
What should I concentrate on?

Thanks

I know this was kind of very very broad.

I think I at least need spend the time to catalogue them into countries.
I've seen Denmark. Germany South Africa. England. Etc.

Please be patient with me while I get organized

Welcome. Fun remembrance for your family. I think of little monetary value. A few scans of the earliest stamps would be enough. Keep in the family or pass on to a budding collector.

Carefull. Any attempt to organise the collection and you might become that budding collector.

RWRandy. Thanks. Hah. No chance to become a collector. Being a common man coin collector has soured me on any collectibles.

Good advise to just leave in family or collector. But would at least want to get rid of the absolute junk to ease pain of descendants

I'll post pics of what I think are the interesting specimens when I'm allowed

I think some of the "stamp store" purchases might be worth a dollar or so
Of course the US plates should still be worth face value

Think I need to at least spend some time going thru them. That's the direction I was hoping to get from all of you. What do I spend my time on? Maybe the answer is ...... I know pics important. Soon.
Thanks
