I believe this series is misnamed.

In the national anthem "O Canada" the phrase "From far and wide" (which was a late addition, as I recall) refers to the fact that our ancestors came from all around the world.

The stamps, however, are not "from far and wide" but pictures of Canadian scenes, of course. They should have titled it: "Our Home & Native Land."

The French version "Terre de nos aïeux" means "the land of our forefathers" — quite appropriate.

"Our Home and Native Land" is much nicer.

I also wish that the captions were not micro-printed. I think people would have preferred to be able to read what is pictured. After all, stamps like this are supposed to interest people in coming to Canada and seeing the sites for themselves.
