I think I'm beginning to get the hang of the forums but if this is in the wrong place I apologise.
I have this embossed stamp but unfortunately cannot read the writing below the arms.
Is anybody able to identify this for me?
Thank you

Forceuk, welcome to the forum. You are doing very well. Only one small suggestion about your "stamp". I believe this has come up before, and you can check this by using the "search" function on every page. You can find it almost at the end of the row of boxes at the top of this page

Welcome to the forum! Do you have a better scan or photo? It's hard to see the bottom of the impression.

You can maybe do a couple of things and tell us if they work. Try putting a piece of tracing paper (or kitchen baking paper) over the top of the stamp and rubbing the side of a 2B or 4B pencil gently over the impression. That may reveal a few clues. Alternatively, hold the stamp at an angle to a bright light; this may also show up the letters.

Sorry perf, but with the lion and unicorn it's definitely British. The circle is surrounded by a belt, and you can see the circle itself if divided into 4, like the British coat of arms. You can even almost make out the raised feet of the lions in the upper left and lower right quadrants, and the upper part of the harp in the lower left.

This isn't exact of course, there are many variations, but it should give you the idea
