It is up to $4605. The high bidder has over 11,000 feedbacks and 22% activity with this seller. Somebody is about to lose a whole lot of money. |

@joe1225us: The description indicates the "possibility of exchange for coins or stamps from France or China." The seller could be planning on diverting the exchange outside of ebay and getting some coins instead of a Paypal payment. In that case the buyer is not covered. It could also be a last hurrah, where the seller walks away with the proceeds, which would be fitting given his claim in his profile that he is gravely ill and hospitalized at home: "Gravement malade j arrête la collection car hospitalisé a domicile." |

Good chance this goes a lot higher when/if snipers get into the mix. Seller also does not accept returns, not that that will mean anything. |

This seller has been doing this on ebay for 3 1/2 years unimpeded. Another excellent example of why I shun ebay. ebay does not give a hoot. They could care less what damage is done. |

Pretty sure it's money laundering. Stamps are good in this respect - when thousands of dollars suddenly appear in the bank, there's a clear explanation if any questions are asked - "I found some rare stamps in an old collection I bought, and sold them on ebay". All appears above board and legal, so far as the seller's finances are concerned, but in fact the money has been transferred sideways from a dodgy, traceable source, to a "clean" one. |

Interesting effect in the last image showing all the individual "stamps" in a black stock card, complete with clear pockets over the stamps. |

Hi shermae, He thinks himself a 'Photoshop' expert, all he has done is use a 'layer' with a bit of transparency to make it look like they are behind a sleeve. There are a number of clues which reveal this image to be a total Photoshoping of the stamps. For example, compare the 90 cent height to the 1 Cent next to it, the scale is off. To see how he Photoshopped the images together simply zoom in to almost the pixel level. Note how you can see the pixilation around each stamp, proving that this is an 'assembled' image of multiple other stamp images. Don |
