jogil, this measurement + research in Unitrade + Duckworth, using Brian's gauges, did not show me much difference, but next measurements of 36e, 37e,36e,38a, 39b should give me a better opinion. Thanks

René

wert: Perhaps a new variety perf. 11 1/2 x 11 1/2 gauge. Comparable to the rare perf. 12 1/2 x 12 1/2 gauge. You never know what you can find and sometimes by chance. Maybe unique, if no other copy recorded or found. Congrats.

Bravo Robert

The 11 1/2 by 11 1/2 variety would be a 37w (wert)

This perf. 12 1/4 x 11 3/4 gauge stamp is different than the previous perf. 11 1/2 x 11 1/2 gauge stamp. Small Queen perforations are an area that needs to be looked into because of the many different perforation gauge combinations possible. One of the best outlines so far has been made by Jack Forbes from his collection of mint SQ multiples. He found a range of gauges from 11.5 to 12.5 with over 65 recorded combinations. I did not see any for your 11.5 x 11.5 and 12.25 x 11.75 on his chart.

Hi Robert,
Can you explain how you are generating these images? What are those white artifacts around the gauge lines? Are you using software to add the gauge lines or are these photos with a gauge physically laying on the stamp?
Thanks
Don

wert.

Well done on the perf 11˝. Thats gonna cause some ripples. No comments yet, maybe you should start a new post on that one.

How do you get such good pictures. Are you using a camera or scanner ?.

Guys....I must apologize...

The software I used was NOT as accurate as I anticipated..Go figure..Will not be using it anymore for perfs...The true perf using 2 hand held gauges is 11.5 x 12.0..Sorry to have made that mistake..Software can be deceiving
.

hello jogil and the others,

I will also look at all my queens and check perforation, just a question: is there a source for the perforation study by Jack Forbes? I found the part 2 in a BNAPS newsletter online, but not part 1?

wert. Bad luck. That must be some crappy software if it gave you half a guage mistake. Let everyone know what it is so we can all avoid it like the plague.

Robert,
what software?
If it is the "see through guage".. I had terrible problems with it, ditched and went back to hand held guages.

Thank you, Jogil. Well, I think this is another philatelic book which I will never own... very hard to buy in Europe or at all. I don't see why there are so few ebooks from all those stamps books. Sure, the colors would be not perfect, but still better than nothing. There are now really many books I would like to read but never will.

So, is the table that BNAPS published in their newsletter here the part 2 of the actual census he published in his book?
http://www.bnaps.org/hhl/newsletter...-12-w038.pdf

If yes, is there anywhere the part 1, I would guess in some newsletter before, like volume 37 or 36 in 2008? If anybody would like to share this table, I think it would be ok as BNAPS usually seems to publish their newsletter in the internet?
