You are confirming, Robert, that shrinking (stamp)is not a "static" process.....it is "dynamic", which would explain your findings.

What makes people stop posting and responding to threads is when people get defensive and/or emotional. The drama kills threads.

Stamp shrinkage does not have to be uniform. Paper has a grain direction this affects this. The paper making process is as much and art and science and varies due to all sorts of variables.

wert. Dont give up on this. You were correct in your first post. The used stamps are a different perf. It may be due to washing, but it may not. I am not prepared to wash my only mint block, but I am sure someone will take up the challenge. In the future, if someone finds a mint stamp then you will be proved right. Its a marathon not a sprint.

Thanks dynamode

Now lets think out of the box (unfortunately thats the way I was trained a while ago)

Could be..COULD BE when they were running this stamp, this conversation arose.

Employee Hey boss, we have a couple of broken pins on the perforation machine..
Boss What perf are you using..?
Employee..We are using 13.3.
Boss Grab the closet perf wheel to 13.3 and finish the run.

Sounds far fetched, but you never know what transpired back then.

Should have said, we have both found used stamps that are a different perf.

One thing I did notice when I re-checked my stamps. If you take the perf size over half the stamp, it seems about the same size. Its only when you look at the complete length they are different.

Have you checked the design to see if its the same size ?. I have tried, but I think it needs to be done digitally to be accurate.

The stamp design has shrunk (along with the perforations).
