The link below goes to a M.E.F. presentation booklet. All of the stamps were cancelled apparently in the booklet. I am not bidding on it, but wondered if it is real? The M.E.F. stamps were used by British Forces in the Middle East during World War II.

Thanks for the information. I also posted an inquiry on the KGVIGroup on Yahoo.com and this response was sent by Richard Lockyer (Richard has written numerous articles for Gibbons Stamp Monthly).

"Grande Alberge dell Rose, the name on the back of the brochure, is a five star hotel in Rhodes town with a trivago 8.4 rating. Useful information if you are going on holiday!

There does not seem to be any reason why this very well produced illustrated souvenir double page card is not a genuine hand out from the hotel to patrons, but when? That is the big question. A crucial matter that could be resolved by the hotel management. If their answer is in modern times the matter is neatly resolved.

So far as the cancellations on the stamps go, they resemble the first of the two recorded for Rhodes 'Town' Office (1945-47) in the GB Overprints Society Study Paper 1 dealing with cancellations of the British Occupation of Former Italian Colonies issues. A nice clue is the slightly oval shaped G of EGEO. However, the date line in the illustration in the study shows day month and year eg 15.6.45. and not as shown on the stamps affixed to the brochure and to my eye the postmarks are also not sufficiently crisp.

The British Postal Administration closed on 31 March 1947. I suppose it is not beyond the bounds of possibility that a dedicated stamp collector, most probably in the services and staying in the hotel just after the end of WW2 spent 5s.10 1/2d to produce this souvenir of his stay on the island. An unusual dateline would have been used and the hotel would have had to a brochure available, which judging by the state of the card has then been stored away most carefully. On the other hand, perhaps it is a modern brochure with stamps cancelled in modern times........"

Frankly for me it's just a souvenir thing of no real Philatelic interest. The cancels are poorly applied. The British Cancelled Brochure makes more sense, not the same $$ 's though.
The O in EGEO does not look convincing...
Some of the cancels of the Italian administration used after the establishment of the British administration
and the stamp of Simi that had been set up in Rhodes with the words "SIMI (EGEO)" in negative.

I agree. It does appear to be a souvenir. One of many unusual things you see on ebay.
I was not planning to bid on it. But had never seen anything like it from that time period.
Thanks for your comments.
