Update: received the stamp at issue and was very surprised when viewing it in person as it does have a very blackish color that is unlike any sulphurized effect that I am familiar with.

Not to say that sulphurization is out of the question because under 60x magnification I do see the red in certain places.

Has anyone encountered this degree of sulphurization before? It is rather striking, the blackish effect.
