Quote: Could the "error" have been manufactured after the fact? I'm in that camp. The perforations around the left "stamp" wander a bit compared to the right stamp. Robert |

When I overlaid the left perfs on the right perfs, they seem to line up perfectly as shown here Don |

It would have been helpful if you would have added a scan of the normal minisheet. For those that dont know. The left creation is not normally perfed, its part of the sheet design, not a stamp. |

Dynamode: It's simple: The normal minisheet has only one stamp perf'ed. The second "stamp" was mysteriously added. It seems to be uniquely sourced to that ebay seller who has had other "anomalies" for sale. |

I would think its a fake also. Perf Holes are not in alignment with the image on the left as compared with the Stamp on the right
especially pins 2-7 on the right side of "faked" left hand image. |

Even if a person desperately wanted to e believe that this is an error, he/she should consider these questions:
1.) How could the paper stock be misaligned to account for this extra set of perforations?
2.) What is the likelihood that the errant perforations would be perfectly aligned over the unintended image? |

Quote: What is the likelihood that the errant perforations would be perfectly aligned over the unintended image? The only way it would make sense to me as a legit error is if the two image areas were in exact mirrored positions with respect to the sheet, meaning that if you flipped the sheet, the perf positions would now circle the other image. But that's not the case here. The two image areas are at different and nonsymmetrical positions from the edge of the sheet. |

There is usually no excuse for modern perforations, especially box type perforations, to be misaligned when the original ones do not show any misalignment. The wandering perforations seems to suggest some slight shifting. It is possible that someone placed one souvenir sheet on top of the other using the perforations of the top one as a template to perforate the bottom one in a different position. |
