Good Morning,

Earlier I posted a stamp I believe had a double impression - under the "3" and the top of the "H" of THREE are the most obvious issues.

Now, I'm just trying to identify it... which is not likely given the bottom of this stamp has the double impression and extra ink.

Please have a look or let me know what I should look for elsewhere on the stamp. The cancel? The paper type? Anything left to identify it?

Thanks!

May I ask how you deduced that catalog number 158?

The paper is the important part. It is just about guaranteed to be a Scott #207 on soft paper. The fuzzy perf tips are a good indicator but holding the stamp up to light with a hard paper stamp next to it will show how thick and opaque the paper is.

The Swedish Tiger website may have some good info on it but a novice should run away from his list of favorite, award winning, ebay sellers.

The stamp has a "secret mark" below the "THREE" and the abundance of fibers indicate soft paper, typical of Scott 184. The stamp retains the original design, unlike the re-engraved Scott 207.
