Heavily inked carmine-rose. My two cents.

As said it would be good to make a scan with others of those 2c stamps. On my monitor looks more like pink but could be carmine rose as well.

The pink ones look like a very bright orange under UV so this could match to a pink stamp. Maybe you check if it has a pink back (due to aniline ink probably), if yes, this would be another indicator for a pink color.

It has coloring from something else on the back - maybe an envelope, maybe another stamp. Also, the tear on the right side is much easier to spot.

I'm hardly an expert on matters like this, but it sure looks like something that was soaked in a solution that caused the ink to bleed out even into the margins, and through to the back. Rather than the color of the stamp itself, what stands out to me is the difference in the margins compared to the other images that have been posted. Regardless of variations in the shade of the stamp itself, those other stamps all have clearly defined white margins. Here the margins are pink. What could have caused that? I don't know if this is what Don was calling attention to, but pink isn't "toning" to me. And with the back view that has now been shown, the pinkness is evident there, too.

I think the stamp has been too damaged by some kind of chemical effect to allow determining its original shade.
