Can anyone ID this stamp for me? It has a 1903 surcharge in green, but the big problem is the red overprint, which isn't in my Scott catalogue.

Thanks for looking!

It appears you need to consult the Michel Catalogue.
They exist around Mi. 207-215 ?

Please let us know what you find out.

Persiphila # 343. Issued October 1903. Catalog value $15 for mint. Forgeries exist.

Quote:
Upon suggestion by Saatdjian, an Armenian curio dealer in Paris who had connection with the officials in the postal
administration, an existing remainder of the 5kr and lOkr stamps of 1894 issue were surcharged and overprinted.
Examples of these stamps were also sent to the office of the Universal Postal Union and a small number were postally
used. Since the intention behind making these stamps was to make personal profit rather than postal necessity,
therefore quite a few errors and varieties were also made, however they are relatively scarce. Forgeries exist, but they
are very crude and can be detected easily.

P.S. If collecting Persia/Iran, the Persiphila catalogs are a necessity.
