Or rotated the scan. I have an old photo program that lets you rotate a degree at a time in either direction. |

It is quite easy with Photoshop. However, if the person used Photoshop, cropping and brightening were not considered important. |

If you look at the higher resolution image in the listing, you can tell the image has been rotated (the rotational smoothing algorithm has softened the edges). Don |

Just for clarity (pun intended)... Use of any image 'tool' causes loss of data (sharpness and detail) from the original scan. If you want to retain the best image quality; place your image straight on the scanner platen and do not use any 'tool' on your image. Don |

I have been using photoshop for many years. I'm not very good at it, but can use basic tools, including rotation function.
This rotation function from 1 deg to 359 deg can be done on many graphic programs, including free programs.
Free graphic programs. (My order of liking)
1. GIMP 2. Photoshop Express 3. Paint.net 4. Pixlr.com 5. PhotoScape

I use irfanview for scanning too.
When I want to scan single stamps from pages at high resolution, our all in one Brother printer software is horrible. You have to prescan again after each scan. Not so with irfanview. |

Quote: Tried IrfanView? Thanks for the info. I will try that. I'm new to the hobby, so my choices were general graphic related software. |
