Other "Floor to ceiling" dealers: Michael Ball (A to Z Stamps), Ed Dimmick.

I wholeheartedly recommend A to Z Stamps. Michael is a great guy.

Sadly, A&D know very little about U.S. revenues and what little they have is usually priced at or above full Scott regardless of quality/condition. I've rarely purchased from them even on the rare occasions I could find an open seat (they used to come to COMPEX).

I have purchased a fair amount from A to Z and Ed Dimmick, mostly more modern and topical stamps. Both Michael and Ed are very friendly and helpful folks. A to Z isn't inexpensive but given the few pennies that each stamp costs, I find it worthwhile to just pull up a chair and fill a lot of album spaces in an efficient amount of time.

A to Z's booth tends to be my first stop at WESTPEX, if there are available seats. When you buy from them, they give you a credit on your next purchase, which is a good incentive to see them again. It's also fun to chat with Michael and Cecilia.

Ken ---STAMPS are not a concern to the ebay Staff ,it is low as a profit center to them and has a low chance of someone taking the business away from them .

That's what I was afraid of. ebay is important to us buyers and sellers, but we're not important to ebay. I wish they'd divest themselves of their collectible business.

Ken --

ebay is the sponsor of the APS show app and they will have a representative there for Friday and Saturday - at the ASDA booth. On Friday afternoon at 3 pm, Steve Halupka, Category Manager for Stamps on ebay will be hosting an open forum in Room B233 in the Convention Hall.

I hope you and other collectors who would like to share your thoughts about ebay will attend the session.

Scott

Thanks that's good to know, unfortunately I won't be arriving until Saturday but I'd love to talk to a real ebay person so I will definitely look them up.

I wonder if this fellow knows what he is getting in to? This day would not be something that I would look forward to if I were him.

I have been to some of these type meetings and often you get one person that is so extreme that the message of others get lost.

I probably won't be able to get to the show until later Friday afternoon. But if my daughter takes a nap at the right time I might be able to leave early.

Thanks for the updates on A & D and the other "floor to ceiling" dealers; also to Paper History for the reference to my Portuguese colonies specialty.

I don't plan to spend much money on new acquisitions for the remainder of the year. The downsizing of my 50 year world wide collection has picked up speed. Last month, I donated 3 older Scott Classic Specialized catalogues and 11 different country folders to the Rocky Mountain Philatelic Library for their upcoming auctions in October and February. More work is on the way.

I am going to try my best to get to the show with the sole purpose of talking to the ebay rep in an open forum regarding a great many topics. Anthony's and the cartel will be at or near the top of the list. Useless feedback will be another topic. Good times for all. So much to discuss, so little time.

What's Anthony's and the cartel, again? I recall a prior thread, but memory is real vague. It's been a while.
