I think the feedback system would priority 1 since that can help outing sellers. They will not be interested in trying to vet everything posted..too much, too vague. |

The cartel and Anthony's are on the forum constantly and almost daily along with NYStamps. Please do a "search" or google.

Since it appears all the rooms are taken at the Crowne Plaza where is the next best closest moderately priced place to stay? |

I got a room at the Hampton Inn downtown, I believe it is right across the street from the convention ctr. |

Yes the Hampton is basically at the front door of the Convention Center. I stayed there for the last APS show in Columbus and it could not have been better. I have had my room booked for over a year now. Not cheap but you get out of bed eat and walk out the front door. When you get tired you go back for a quick nap/shower and back to it. Also nice if you attend the auctions that go late into the evening.
Enjoy the show. |

Thanks. I might be able to get a room at the Crowne and if not a fellow member of one of the Societies I belong to offered to share his room at the Crowne for half the cost. It had 2 queen beds. |

I have a room at the Drury which is not far away, but everything downtown appears to be obnoxiously expensive for my taste. My own fault for waiting too long to finalize my plans. |

Yeah, a little price gouging going on. I was told by APS that Red Roof was $127 just the other day. He checked while I was on the phone and said they want $175 now. He's trying to get me a room at the Crown and if that doesn't go through a dear friend has offered me the other bed in his room at the Crowne. I could stay further away but want to maximize my time at the show and with internet friends I've had for decades and not met. The last show I was able to attend was the Ameristamp Expo in 2004. My work schedule doesn't usually work to my favor. I'm driving 10hrs each way just to make this show. Wish the show was held in the winter there as I was working at Wright Pat from Nov 2016 to April 2017. |

If I had to sit in a car for 10 hours I wouldn't be able to walk at the end of it. I'm glad I'm flying in. |

The APS show is coming to me next year, in Omaha. I live in the far western suburbs and have actually thought about staying near the site for a night or so. It's a year off, however. |

Total lack of interest in going .......I will bid at the stamp auction at the show on my computer because I have a active account with the firm ..........people worry about driving and where to sleep geee!!! .......Sleep at a homeless shelter ........geee!!! . Who offered to buy breakfest ???? Where you guys going to drink ???? Anybody up for Mexican Food ????. Who is buying the first round Any talk about not bidding against each other on what lots?????? I would NOT be showing up, sounds like a bunch of ZOMMBIES having a convention ....geee .
In the old days at the Gregg Manning Auctions -----I wake up in somebody elses hotel room and the first thing they offer is another drink before we spend a day looking at lots and to wake up in a room were I was the only stamp dealer who spoke English. .A few times even got a call in the morning to go back to the bar and pick up a few dealers, you would know their names . Then since I was the only one who could drive ,pick them up and take everybody out for a decent breakfest before showing up with the whole group to view auction lots for a second day all wearing the same clothes as yesterday . Looking like crap and smelling like it ......hey that was no Zommbie convention it was a fun time . |

Some of us have learned from those earlier times (and are working the show in any case). And/or have discovered that attempts to live that lifestyle at this point is a very bad idea. Alas. |

I don't have any philatelic "earlier times" but I did meet some nice folks, including a few members of this forum, at the World Stamp Show. I may have drank one beer... |

All depends on one's age, and one's sense of adventure. I have never been that adventurous in philately, but at other times....... |
