I have a beat-up copy of a small journal titled "World of Philately". It is a first edition, 12 pages, published in May, 1947, evidently in conjunction with the US 1947 CIPEX international show. It is 6x9 inches.

This was intended to be a journal devoted to collecting covers. All of the content and advertising is related to cover collecting: cachet makers, cover dealers, cover supplies, etc.

I can find no information on this publication. This is the only copy of it I've seen. I find nothing on ebay, by Googling, or searching the APRL catalog. Any information anyone can provide would be greatly appreciated. I'd particularly like to know if any additional editions were published.

Thank you.

Nice item.
I like reading old philatelic magazines.

Would it be conceivably be produced by "Smartcraft" as the cynosure seems to be on cachetmaking.
That may be a line to pursue.

Good thought, Rod. The Smartcraft cachet on the cover is the only Smartcraft related thing I note in the booklet. Other than the editor's (not identified) column, everything is advertising or promotional for cover collecting. Some of the well known names from the era have ads/promotions: Michael Sanders, Fleetwood, Frank Teixeira, Walter Czubay (Zoo-Bay). The National Cachet Society has ads/promotions.
