Hi all.

The cover below recently decided to come live with me. Working on plating the stamp. From the date, I'm figuring that it's likely from the 6-8 range. The main thing I see (aside from the bottom margin), is a gap in the frame line by the upper left triangle.

Given that, the best I can come up with is:
100R6, 91R7, or 100L8.

As inept as I am at plating, I may be way off base.

If someone more competent could confirm the plating of the stamp, I'd appreciate it.

Thanks
Chip

Chip,
Quite posibly the 100L8. I would not say either the 100R6 or 91R7 are a match. The wide margins on the L&R would match a plate 8 stamp. Sadly there are too many bottom row plate 8 stamps missing in the Stamp Smarter Plating Initiative to be definitive from my limited perspective.

A link to it is now on the homepage of the USPCS website http://uspcs.org (I think they're also hosting it)

Its not 100L8. The left frameline is way too far away from the UL rosette.

93L7 works well here.
I think I see the vertical recut connecting the UR diamond block to the UR triangle, and also same at bottom right. Top left and top right corners match.

I agree with 93L7. The Scott #11 Type I's can be fairly readily separated into three groups, Plate 4, Plate 6 or 7, and Plate 8. Plate 8 stamps are fairly distinctive in that the frame lines tend to be very heavily recut, unlike the stamp under discussion here.
