The straight line indicates it is likely from the edge of the sheet.

Hi blackcat,
It actually looks to be a third watermark (narrow crown over A)
From left side of a sheet (watermarks are viewed from the front of a stamp)
Printed in sheets of 60 with Left and Right panes.
6 stamps across by 10 stamps down, so potentially 20 could have side watermark lines on each of the left and right sides and up to 24 could have a top or bottom watermark line. I say potentially because the printing process could miss the centre of the sheet amd cause the watermark line to be outside the perforated area of the stamp.
Corner stamps could even have both watermark lines (top or bottom and left or right).
Please remember to post pics of both sides of stamps as it can be helpful in precisely determining watermarks, dies, shades and flaws. All very important in determining the value of stamps.
Hope this helps with a bit of knowledge that you can benefit from.

Actually, I think it is the first watermark, making it Scott 8, ACSC 17. The A is just too wide to be anything else.

I looked through my duplicates, and have the following examples to show the extra watermark line. I could only find on the bottom and left (when viewed from the back). And these are the third watermark, Scott 48 (ACSC 19). If the OP wants one of them, please send me an email through the system.

Definitely 1st watermark. The marginal watermark lines appeared only in 1st, 2nd, and 3rd watermarks of this series.

And they were not printed in sheets of 60.

The normal sheet size for Kangaroo and Map series lower denominations contained 240 cliches per sheet. This was made up of an upper and a lower plate each of 120 cliches. Each plate had two panes of 60. Values 5/- and up were printed in sheets of 120 from a single plate.

Regards
Frank
