Welcome bailey:
It takes a while for all new members to get the feel of SCF. Unlike so many places online, our members are patient and helpful to new members.
Here are a couple points to help you as you go forward in our community. 1. cell phone photos rarely provide enough detail for any significant analysis of your stamps. 2. as soon as you can, find a cheap scanner and learn to capture images of your stamps 3. if you MUST use a cell phone, common sense would dictate that you only post photos that are IN FOCUS and not photographed at an angle 4. use a descriptive SUBJECT/TITLE for your posts; if you use the same subject, we'll assume it's the same content 5. Along with the pictures, post any information you know and/or ASK A QUESTION -- don't expect us to read your mind

A 1946 peace stamp, three King George 5th sideface stamps but more interesting (to me at least) is the back of the envelope. The cancellation at the top looks like a Travelling Post Office cancel. Could we see the front of the envelope please? |

The 2½d Peace stamp is the first stamp in a set of 3 that was issued 5 months after the end of WWII. The watermark is of a multiple crown and C of A upright, the other 2 have the watermark sideways. There were 97,560,000 of the 2½d printed, 5,580,000 of the 3½d and 8,100,000 of the 5½d.
Perforation 2½d - 15 x 14½; 3½d & 5½d - 14½ x 15.

Hi Bailey22, Thanks for showing us the front of the envelope. Are you wanting to know if there is any value in what you have inherited or are you looking for information about what you have? Do you have thousands of loose stamps or are the in albums? Do you have many envelopes? Please let us know so we can help. It sounds like you've got a potential good lot but the more we know the more we can advise. Any pictures of what you've inherited to give us an idea of how big the lot is would be great |

Approx 40-50 Stamp Albums from Australia and Around the world 1000 Loose Stamps not in albums some are used some not 200 First Day Covers 200 Letters Telegrams,Bills and Misc items as well Stamp Duty Stamp and Revenue Stamps I am looking to find out the if any of the stamps are valuable or not. Also I do know most of the history of the collection. My Nana was a avid collector and also a perfectionist. The dates from which the collection start are Late 1800 to 2000.They have always been well looked after.Hope this helps and I will get more photos to you as soon as I can. There are also lots of copies of the same stamps used and unused would like to keep some of the items. Thanks Bailey That's some collection! The First Day Covers (if pre decimal currency) could be interesting to see. Likewise with the letters. As for the albums, the older material will generally be where any value is, depending on where it's from. For Australia, any high face value stamps would be interesting to look at too. Please load up some more scans/photos when you can - we'll be happy to help out |

Hi bailey22
Post what you can of the pre-decimal stamps. There is not much call for stamps from 1966 to the present.
The exception of the pre-decimal navigators on letters and unused, the higher values are worth money, and the aboriginal cattle herder, both shown below.
And of course King George VI & King George V. Although virtually every collection would have a Queen Victoria stamp, the majority of collections do not have QV stamps that hold monetary value (that doesn't mean your grandmother doesn't have any of monetary value), but feel free to upload anything you have.
