Hello There Family,

I have a question about these Davo GB Albums. Recently, I have been filling up Volumes I, II, and III. Queen Elizabeth II, that is. I'm collecting used stamps except for the Wilder and Machin definitives.

So now, I am thinking about adding Volume IV to the collection. And so, here's the question:

Palo Albums carries the Davo brand and is Davo's agent here in the USA. When I look on-line ( ebay), I see two different Davo Volume IV's. One is for Palo part number 4234 (2000-2007) and the other is called Stanley Gibbons Davo Volume IV (also 2000-2007). Does the SG contain SG numbers? Because the Palo 4234 version does not. The cover page inside the albums are different also. I thought Stamps1962 might know about this because he seems to know a lot about albums. Are you there, Stamps?

Thanks,
Jack Kelley

I have a lot of Davo albums including Great Britain and none have any numbers in them at all.

I think the SG albums have the same Davo pages but possibly in a different binder.

Most of mine were ordered direct from Davo.

by the link below, it appears they use a standard album. The album page displayed in image 2 is actually from volume 4.

As far as I know, no Davo album includes catalogue numbers. Although SG has a tie-up with Davo, its own GB/Commonwealth range, which does include catalogue numbers, is an entirely separate production.

Jack - did you get my e-mails with the Wilding information?

Thanks to all who responded (no Stamps!). It appears that everything is the same between the Palo and SG versions. SG apparently has an arrangement whereby they are allowed to insert their name onto the cover page. Everything else is identical (and no SG numbers as dutchman and Geoff have pointed out).
I may wait awhile before ordering. Its just that I filled up 2 1/2 albums lickitty-split with all those "junk" used commemoratives. It will be the mint definitives which will make the collection worthwhile. The GB commemoratives are no better than the modern junk USA counterparts, in my opinion.

Thanks Again,
Jack

Which country doesn't have the issue with way too much junk issued to generate income.
