I have an Iceland postmark with the town name beginning "Asgar..."
Haven't located any town in Iceland beginning like that. Anybody know it? Thanks in advance.

I guess it could be Ásgarður.

There's one at Garðabær and at least two more farms or hamlets across Iceland have the same name.

I believe the backstamp says ÁSGARÐUR-GARÐ., i.e. Ásgarður at Garðarhreppur which fits with the address.

Subsequently Garðarhreppur was renamed Garðabær.
