Bailey22, what makes you think these are imperforate? They seem to have perforations?

Yes both perforated and in poor condition but the 1 shilling cover has the boxed TOO LATE handstamp on the front. |

A splendid brace of "mourning" covers. Lovely. Should be preserved in polypropylene packets.
Great Britain Kidderminster Postmark Code A at top (unlisted) a new discovery.
Perf (P) = perforated (punched holes around the edge) Imperf. = Imperforate (cut with scissors or knife) Diecut = self stick stamps perforations cut by punch knife to backing paper.
"TOO LATE" auxilliary handstamp, indicates the cover missed the collection that connected to the departure of a particular train / ship etc.

Quote: Great Britain Kidderminster Postmark Code A at top (unlisted) a new discovery. Hi Rod, Could you please let us know where this information comes from? The 'TOO LATE' handtsamp is White type T11, in use from 1838 to 1864. The fee for letters to the UK at the time this letter was posted was 6d. |

Quote: are the mourning cover valuable or just a normal cover Opinion: Just a normal cover, reasonably common. Most articles are valued on the overall item. Yours has a nice stamp (albeit torn on the corner) , clean cover, clean precise postmarks. A lovely item, just does not translate to high value, but very collectable. |

If you are ever in Kidderminster, visit the church, The window in the south transept commemorates the family. Unsure if "Summer Bank" was a House name, or a district.
A HISTORY OF KIDDERMINSTER.
The north window of the apse was given by the Rev. Melsup Hill in memory of his wife. The window in the south transept commemorates Mr. Joseph Kiteley, who died 5 August, 1880.
