I am renovating my hobby room so everything is boxed up and stacked in various places in the house. I will just have to describe it. I have a 5 drawer filing cabinet about 1/2 full, one 5 foot tall x 3 ft wide shelf about 50% full, one USPS large square flat rate box, 6 other 2 x 12 x 9 inch boxes, and a stack of WW albums about a foot tall. All of that is to be organized. Some to put in my albums, some to sell/trade/trash, some to stock books for further study. There might be some more but that is a good idea. |

I'll have to describe it as I'm a dinosaur without a cell phone or camera... The collection, after 1940, is being transitioned to big red boxes. It's time to put them in some new glassines, as the ones they are in are around 20 years old. I'm also rearranging the stamp den, to make more space for publications. The stamp library consists of several hundred books, a couple hundred auction catalogs, over a thousand journals and untold newspapers (Linn's - about 30 years worth). The SECOND room currently has a two five shelf bookcases holding twelve collections which need to be broken down, as well as several photo boxes of covers which need to be evaluated and cataloged. Then there's the closet, which is full of stamps... I'm working at it, really I am.... I estimate it will take me another 3-4 years to get through everything at the rate I'm going. Did I mention I only collect one country? |

"Overflow" now there's a new adjective for the lexicon. My overflow boxes of stamps, I'll die before I get through them all, but its comforting to know, they are all there waiting to be scanned and mounted. I think they multiply at night, when I am asleep. |

I am at the opposite end of the spectrum. I have managed to reduce my "overflow" to an all time low !
It is making me completely re-assess my collecting habits. I need to practice restraint. It won't be easy, wish me luck ! |

I'm starting to fall into the trap, having just ordered almost 4,000 used machins. Both closets are already full.

I'm working on reducing not sure how I'm doing since I just ordered 10,000 foreign off paper. ( I'm sure I have most of them already) but I do have approx 6 18 gallon tubs worth of stuff to go through and about 6 collections I bought a few years back. I should have started neat and kept it neat instead of buying too much. It's an addiction. |

Yes I think it is lol. I just started collecting stamps again a couple of weeks ago and already have over 10 thousands stamps to work on on top of a 14 pounds box of machins on paper. Just separating those machins will take me forever lol. I had a drawer to put everything in it but it is already full. I am glad to know I am not the only one.

I picked up 9 banker boxes of covers from the Albany show back in July. I did look through them and roughly organize them by countries/types, but it will be awhile before I have them inventoried. I estimate it takes 2-3 years from the time of purchase to it reaches ebay. |

I periodically clean house. Just took two stock books of French and German, as well as a box of about 150 covers to a dealer. Walked away with two stampless covers. I thought it was a fair trade!

I have my spares in one binder and try to buy lots of what I expect to use 80%. I made a learner mistake of buying a general worldwide (prefer British empire) so have a 4-inch stack of album pages of the usual common countries (Germany, France, Italy, Russia, Belgium, etc). |

I hear you - I have triplicates or more of all Scott classic pages, and dups up to 1960, due to an impulse buy at an auction. Many of them with the same common stamps on them, so I can't get rid of them without going through one by one and transferring the best to my main pages. |

I have at least 5 banker's boxes worth of stuff that I have to list on ebay. Thats just old albums and stockbooks. Duplicates I chuck into a large box, then parcel them out into 90g lots to sell on ebay. I'm currently filling box no. 3 - I guess a single box weighs about 2-3kg when full. I havent even started to organize and sort covers. Another few banker's boxes. And then there's a few boxes of kiloware that has to be lotted up... |

My overflow is a 20 gallon plastic tub about 2/3 full of loose stamps and a few sheets. I'm sorting it little by little to get ready for my albums but going to be a while. |
