It's always stupid to ask a question after the fact, but I just bought this on ebay for what seemed like a pitence. Now, the ten thousand dollar question: is this a genuine usage?

Thank you, Rogdcam. The cancel looked correct, but the fact that the stamp wasn't actually tied had me confused. At $50, I'm not going to lose sleep over it. As a side note, I love the way it's addressed "5 doors below Monroe..."

Love the address. Side question: will the certifying powers that be give a positive cert on locals if it isn't tied (assuming there is no other way to confirm authenticity-- like provenance)?
