I have all the issued stamps of the DDR, and will post them as a reference resource.

1949

East Germany - Deutsche Post stamp, 1949 75th Anniversary of UPU, 50Pf blue, Issued 9/10/1949. Michel DDR 242

CV **€13.00, *€3.50 o €24.00.

Abbreviations: ** Mint never hinged. * Mint hinged. o Used. c on cover. Wz Watermark type.

The Watermark type can make a vast amount of difference with these stamps: On Michel 353, Wz XI is €1.20, Wz XII is €2500.00. Not all prices are quite so different though. :D

Only the earliest stamps of the DDR are priced hinged. From 1955, Michel 447, they are priced as Mint Never Hinged only.

PLEASE NOTE:Cat values given are for the cheapest sort.

East Germany - Deutsche Post stamp, Day of the International Postal Workers Trade Unions, 12Pf Violetultramarine, Issued 27/10/1949. Michel DDR 243

CV **€10.00, *€2.60 o €25.00, c €30.00.

East Germany - Deutsche Post stamp, Day of the International Postal Workers Trade Unions, 30Pf red with gray/red, Issued 27/10/1949. Michel DDR 244.

CV **€13.00, *€3.50, o €40.00, c €60.00.

East Germany - Deutsche Post stamp, Day of the postage stamp, 12Pf brownblack/lightyellowgrey, Issued 30/10/1949. Michel DDR 245.

CV ** €7.00 * €2.00 o €12.00 c €15.00

And that is that for 1949. I wish the coming years were as brief.

Thanks for the post, a fair bit of Polish connection with the stamps of the DDR.

Hello again folks.

A bit has happened since I was last here, in hospital four times, operations x three.

Back to 'normal' now, and will continue with the threads, DDR and Annigoni.

Things were also a bit hampered by not remembering the name of the site. :-)
