I lasked the Stamp Community Family, in a posting yesterday, to attach the following letterbox as my personal avatar. Since I like taking snapshots of them, this one was attached to a house in Bernkastel, Germany which I visited earlier this year......



Thank you, Administrator whoever you are, for doing the work, I am happy as a clam! Then, although the thread was locked, someone asked where it might have been made....



I have no doubt it was a reproduction (probably cast iron or similar material) as there are many homes and businesses that have these stylish letterboxes, not only in Europe but here in the USA and I am sure other places as well...

Maybe it's time for a new thread on stylish letter boxes!

Jim, the one I saw had a small piece broken and it definately was cast iron. Complete with stand it weighs approximately 40lbs
