Please help me identify the black black plate number.
how much is this worth now? Is it rare?
Is this SG 1 or SG 2?
Thank you very much for your time.

Definitely not an SG1 which is intense black. It looks more like an SG2. SG3 is towards grey black.

ymc - the main problem with your stamp is its condition. Ideally, you'd be looking for four clear margins around the design. Your stamp has two, but also has significant damage to the north-east corner, perhaps sustained when the stamp was removed from an envelope, as well as a heavy cancellation across Vicky's face. So it's one to fill a space in an album.

Not terrible I must say, I have seen worst ones selling for 50 quid.

9 bidders going for this piece in terrible condition that I wouldn't even consider. £16 with one more day to go. I think it may end up being sold at £50, just my guestimate...

I really don't understand why people bid relatively significant amounts for individual stamps in poor condition when four-margin copies commonly sell at proper auctions for around £100.

I agree with you, for loose penny blacks I collect only good 4 margin ones since I have that choice.

Because of the check letters there are initials collectors like myself. We only purchase them for the check letters, not condition.

Chipg, this is amazing. How long and how much to come up with this? Is the VR a flawless piece?
