These cards are not preserved well, but, I suppose that a story which they tell is not so common.

I think that an Australian born Fritz Bieri, probably from mother Anglo-Australian born there, and father naturalized from Germany, left Australia to go to military school in Switzerland.

Over the years he became a soldier and later officer, and, when WW1 came, he has been on the "wrong side" from his old friends from Australia.

I think that his mother was born in Australia because she wrote him a card in a fluent English... other card was sent to him from Australia written on German (probably by his father)... I have several other cards written to him, but not with such a nice frankature, so I picked these to show... however, can also upload the others, if someone would like to see them...

Wow! These are really cool! I love finding old mail with the letters still inside. Regardless of "actual value," they're valuable to me because you actually get the history of the person who sent/received the mail. Thanks a lot for sharing!
