Anatolia stamp for the Naval League considered a label .For the benefit of sailors .

Hi,

This is a Turkish obligatory tax stamp dating from either 1918 (according to Michel) or 1926 (according to Pulko).

Michel lists it as a forerunner and calls it Mi VI.

It's one of a set of three. The other two have the same frame but show a patient & nurse, and a Turkish flag.

This is not the same set as the Navy League labels that were used for the Ankara government postal overprints.

Stand corrected ----ROD posted these on his Turkey comment on 1-19-18 with a page he scanned explaining them as benefiting a child organisation .

Should check my own collection once in a while .
