Hello again:
I dont know about you, but I"am having problems identifying colors of certain stamp colors.I have two stamps that seem to confuse me.
I have a old Scott's catalog but I don't know if it matters to much in identifying colors .
I have a Washington a10 it says it has four colors, orange brown, dull red, rose
and scarlet. My scarlet seems to be more red looking if it is scarlet?.
Also I have a Washington a25 and the colors it lists , pink, pigeon blood pink, rose pink and rose .
I took picture's of the stamps and are below with a color sample made with photo shop eye dropper to help get a exact colors Tell me if I'm correct or wrong in the colors I think the pinks are the ones I'm more confused on.
First one was orange brown?
second one was a darker brown?
the third was dull brown
the fourth was scarlet or red or maybe just a orange brown its different in shades than the top orange brown ,reder if that's a word?
the fifth was pigeon blood pink ?
the sixth was rose or pink?

Thanks Dan

Hi Dan,
Stamp colors from an image are problematic since;
- there is no way to tell if the camera/scanner is capturing the true color
- once you save the image most file formats manipulate the colors
And then posting an image online becomes problematic because no two monitors/displays will render teh colros exactly the same.

Using a color dropper is also a problem since every pixel can be a different color.

If you scan all the stamps together there is some value since they are then relative.
Don
