I get that some folks want to unload their catalogues once their utility has expired (they can take up a lot of shelf space), but as an avowed pack rat, I have to admit to keeping all of mine. To me these are both philatelic collectibles as well as reference books in the sense that a collector can follow price trends for various countries over the years, for example. Having grown up in London, I still have my first 'real' catalogue on my shelf, a 1969 Stanley Gibbons World Simplified (which amazes me every time I look at it since back then, the world fit into just one volume!). Disclaimer: I only buy the Scott US Specialized and the Classics catalogue on a regular basis...my last full set of Scotts goes back to 1995.
