Hi folks,

I have taken an interest in stamp collecting after finding an interesting box of stamps in a charity shop. It is a very involved hobby but I am enjoying the thrill of looking for rarities.

Speaking of which, I came across a few Machins with flaws. Has anybody any thoughts on them? I am assuming the flaws are due to some form of contamination on the rollers at that points. I would love to know what you think of them.

I'm looking forward to learning a lot from the community here.

Welcome! I am no expert on Machins but they look normally used to me. The cancellations look like orange ink.

I agree with Angore actually. I don't remember anything of the sort from the most recent Stanley Gibbons specialised catalogue that would say anything on the contrary.

Thanks for the friendly replies folks. Ill try and ask in a machin section in the forum. They are not like any of the other machins I have so that's what made me wonder. Its the small square shaped discolorations.
Anyway, look forward to chatting again.
