Everything is relative but I left Scott due to supplement costs and their two post binders.

For example, the 2017 Bermuda is $10 (net) and you just get 2 pages. The price goes up from there and usually in the $15+ range. If you collect 10 countries and keeping up you are into $120 to $150 every year.

As for Mystic, you will not find 3 binders and pages for all issues from US 1 to date with Scott numbers for under $50. The Scott album equivalent for entry level albums (Pony Express and Minuteman) are much more expensive. Mystic supplements are under $6. Scott is 2x for their equivalents.

The stamp prices are high but that is another discussion.

I had purchased my Dad a Palo album for his Philippine stamps about 14 years ago. I actually looked at this yesterday. I found the provided spaces/mounts quite small and the pages seemed wavy. I do not like white paper pages.

Excellent comments which I fully agree with. I use hingeless for mint and Scott for used most of the time.

I try to purchase most of my hingeless albums used or when on sale.

As far as supplements, lighthouse is very expensive and you can probably buy 5 Scott supplements for 1 lighthouse.

The last Canada Lighthouse supplement I purchased was around $100 and I stopped collecting Canada mint after that due to cost as well as the mess with the CUPW union and Canada Post.

Indeed. If you're after Lighthouse, Lindner or Davo albums, you can pick them up in most auctions. In essence, the expensive album is thrown in with the stamps. In addition, the "accessories" sections of auctions often have unused or lightly used, empty albums by these manufacturers.
