Came across this MINT NFLD Scott 140 (N.S.S.C. 135) that has what we would call a water affected ink splatter in the printer's world...My time in my printing career, I have come across just a few of them..And remember there is a stamp out there with the back (gum side) that has the same stain.

Not going to make me rich, but rare.

Robert

You can see a lighter colour affected by moisture, the same as if you put white ink in a green colour and it woud turn a lighter shade.

Robert, interesting. Why would there be a similar splatter on the backside of another. Would it be on a mint stamp only or will it show on a used one too?

Thanks for info.

Mike

Thanks guys

No1philatelist...As the second sheet was printed and landed on the affected splatter sheet, an imprint would/should transfer to the bottom of the next sheet...Probably mint stamp only.

Just an interesting oddity.
