Bought this one from a dealer at one of Richard Canupp's stamp bourses in Charlotte, NC back in the 1980s. Marking on the back indicates 25 cents, but I think a paid four times that much for it.

It appears to be a genuinely postally used commercial cover sent to Charlotte. I cannot detect any signs of tampering with the stamps or cover. Stamps appear to be SG 743 Eva, the 1s 6d missing blue green color stamp. Last scan shows comparison with normal SG 743.

Nice find Bob,
don't want to dampen your enthusiasm, I am a newbie on this issue,
but your comments on maybe Evb ?

Oops, I was focused on the Left hand stamp. Apologies.
For Eva, you need to confirm PVA gum?

So, I went right past 743 a. Oh well.

If genuine, distinguishing between the two gums would be problematic, because these stamps were effectively applied to the envelope.
