The front of the cover is easily explained and makes sense to me. It's the back stamp which is a puzzler for me.

If anyone has ever seen this type of marking, please let me know what it is and where to find out more about it.

While I recognize that The World was a leading newspaper at the time, the address is simply fabulous - fodder for those New Yorkers and expats who contend that New York is the center of the world if not the universe.
