Hi forum

Hoping that someone could help with identifying this stamp. I have had it in my collection for years but haven't been able to find out anything about it.
It has a post mark on it from August 1921 so I'm guessing it was used as a postage stamp.
Any information would be helpful.

Welcome tobyn

What you have there is a postal stationery cutout. Back in the day they were cut out of the envelopes and mounted in albums, many of which had spaces for this type of material.

Hope this helps!

Hi Bobby

Thanks for the quick response. So this was embossed on an envelope and then cut out?

Is this the reason it doesn't appear in any stamp catalogues? I don't know much about postal stationery but this probably explains why I haven't been able to find any information about the stamp.

Really amazed by the amount of time the dealer would spend listing down the prices of these cutouts. I have a load of gb cutouts that I don't even bother sorting then out.
