I've recently reviewed the published specialized catalogues for each of the twenty republics of Central and South America.

https://classiclatinamerica.com/phi...-catalogues/

Many of them are long out of date but hopefully this will give you a guide to what to look out for when scouring the auction sites for used copies. Pricing is invariably way off the mark but the depth of detail can be invaluable when compared to what is available in the major catalogues.

I have also added recommended editions where I feel certain catalogues or editions represent the best source of data. Certain countries still have a reasonably frequent publishing schedule whereas other haven't been published for decades.

These things are always subjective so if you have suggested alternatives or corrections then please let me know.

Nick

Nice site. I've been thinking about expanding into Ecuador, so this is helpful.

This will be a very useful link. Thanks. I have modest collections of almost every Latin American country, except Haiti, which was sold. And Mexico is one of my specialty areas.

Excellent for sure. I collect Mexico, Central & South America up to 1960 so there are likely some great research materials/sources available here. Thx for posting!

As an aside, I note that ROMpex (Denver, CO) will have societies there this coming May from Mexico, Peru, Honduras & Guatemala too.
