Can anyone tell me if this color variation is just a bit off or what? Can not find where there was a different printing with this yellow/greenish color. I have several of these in the brownish color but none in the yellow/green.

Guess:
Looks very much like Light, or chemical damage.
The red pigment has been compromised. (Perhaps bleach in the soaking water)

Hi,

Michel Deutschland Catalog says

"24 Pf braunorange bis schwarzlichrotorange" (brown-orange to blackish red orange), thus I also agree with Rod's guess.

Hi,

For the OP (Nick), yes, a damaged stamp.

Here an example from my collection on the 8 Pfg.

And a selection of the 24 Pfg. Under Michel Nr.925, there are four colors. Under Hohmann same four colors.
