I have been doing some early Germany cataloging and came across this item.
It looks like its from an early German state, but I cannot identify it.

It doesn't look like it was perfed, but its cut close.
Size is about 24 x 20 mm
Great looking pattern in the background.

I am sure someone will know what it is.

Thank you in advance

As always ... thank you Rod. So fast are you.
I have been reading some threads of yours on German cancels. Oh my! Fascinating.
I have a few with a little figure of a man (kind of looks like what can be called a "lawn jockey") on the early German cancel I am searching for and will post it soon...or you can tell me where to look.

Turtle,
I am just the Masters' apprentice.
I tinker,
Postmaster GS is our "go to" man.

Look forward to seeing your Jockey
Post it under the "German Cancellation Premium" thread, and Postmaster GS generally replies with the good oil.

Hello Turtle,

As already mentioned by Rod, it's a cutout from Bavaria postal stationery; could be either Michel P 26 (1883/84), P 30 (1884/88) or P 34 (1888/90). Below are the scans from German postal stationery catalogue (Ganzsachen-Katalog Deutschland) from Michel.
