Hello guys
Have a look at this Canada Law Stamp....Unfortunately it is not in the best shape ( have many more in far better shape ) but it is not the stamp that interests me, it is the cancel.

Why I got interest in this cancel is the old business card referring to my cancel...Shown below.

Below is the Postmaster William Jaffrey He was in charge from..
May.1st.1862 till Aug.28.1896 (death)
Below is the stamp next to the actual cancel...
A.J. Peterson, Berlin C.W.- Berlin: Town in
"County of Waterloo"-A.J. Peterson stands for
"Law Stamps to contain the name of the canceller and his office or location"-The C.W. stands for
"County of Waterloo"- Cancel date
"November 4th, 1869"
Little history of Berlin OntarioBelow is the map of Berlin Ontario 1853-1854

In June 1916 the county of Waterloo arranged to change the name of
Berlin to another name because it was half way through WWI and they did not want the same name as Germany.
There were originally 113 names submitted and the narrowed it down to 6 as shown by the original voting paper as shown below...Eventually they voted on
Kitchener in the county of Waterloo.

The post office was moved to a new building on King Street where it remained until the Town Hall was finished in 1869, when the west end of the main floor was set aside as a Post Office.
QUESTION: Is this possibly the last recorded date at the old Post office, or the earliest recorded date at the final Post OfficeRobert
