Sent a padded envelope containing three Christmas Cards to my son and his family in Fairbanks, AK December 17. Actually handed it to a clerk at our local office sending it first class for $3.50 to boot. It arrived at the sorting facility in Indianapolis on the 18th where it sat until the 28th. Finally, it arrived in Kodiak on December 30. Not so great. But wait, it gets better. It was properly addressed with correct zip code to my son in Fairbanks. He finally received the cards January 4.

Reminds me of the US Postal Workers issue of 1973, Scott #'s 1489 - 1498. It shows a letter being mailed on the first stamp which appears to be in warm weather, then it moves through the system and finally being delivered to a mailbox with snow on the ground.
