Bobby (Or any members)
Care to cast an eye over this one? Limerick ? Lime Street ?

Cover I won in an auction 2011 from my good friend Zhang Cheng from China,
I just opened the package.

East India House.
Leadenhall Street London December 14th 1843

and another, any suggestion on CDS or aux markings?

Auxilliary marking is HOLBORN HILL (Ulverston)

Holborn Hill is a street and a ward in the town of Millom, in Cumbria, England. Historically it was a village in the administrative county of Cumberland and predates Millom.

Blue CDS is CLITHEROE (Lancashire)
Usage 23rd April 1845 to 20th April 1850

Looks like a single PAID stamp (Double Rim = Evening) in Red.

Cover addressed to Hall and Baldwin Solicitors.
At this time they were solicitors for Clitheroe Junction Railway proposal (10 miles)

Hi Rod,

The receiving house marking on the first cover is Limehouse. The receiving house was located at 44 Three Colt Street.

More info on the street here:

The second cover was posted from Holborn Hill in London. There's a map of the street here:

Hope this helps

Yes 8 in the morning. Also known with 10Fn (Forenoon), 12Nn (Noon) 1, 2 and 3An (Afternoon), 6Ev (Evening) and 8Nt (Night).

They came into use in July 1843 according to my literature. It was applied at the Chief Office.
