There is a note in Gibbons which says "The relative position of the words "WAR" and "TAX" vary considerably in the sheet." There's a similar note in my Scott Classic Specialized.
These were overprinted at the offices of the Daily Chronicle at Georgetown. The relative position of the letters in the word probably vary too. I don't have any information on how the overprint was applied but surely it would be a forme and not a handstamp. In all honesty I think it's a little overinking.
I'm not talking about the position in the word, I'm just looking at the dot on the letter T amd the loop between the letter A and R there is no British Guian stamp with the word WAR TAX with what I just mentioned. Going to meet tomorrow with an expert on British Guiana stamp. Thank you.
