This Buenos Aires stamp is hinged in a worldwide book I recently purchased. While researching I read where the likelihood of it being forged is 95%! What say you? Thanks!
It's a fake. The circles at the corners should all be clearly contained inside the inner design. These all bisect the corners leaving a "triangle" of color at the outer edges.
I find the attached link very helpful for early forgeries. Page 69 is the starting page for this stamp. The "Album Weeds" book is not cheap but it is very interesting and provides a great deal of information. It will likely help especially as you continue to investigate your newly purchased world wide book.
