Currently, there is a thread going on here about the stamps of Lundy Island. There are downloadable pages being offered via a Google link. When you click on the link a .pdf file appears. The URL is a direct link to Stampalbums.com, Steiner website.
After scouring their website I don't see them being offered as free pages. Then, experimenting with other countries, I have been able to pull up just about any .pdf from his site, something, I thought, was only available to paid subscription members, using a password.
I myself purchased the CD.
Is this a glitch on his website, or am I missing something?
I don't have a subscription, membership, or password there, so how can I be pulling these files up?
I can't speak specifically to this, but I can comment in general.
Bill Steiner provides pages for the whole world at an incredibly modest price.
We should be grateful, as he has made WW and Country collecting on nice pages/layout available and affordable.
Then there are the PIRATE sites that use his sweat, labor, and tears for their own gain.
Knowledgeable and ethical collectors should obtain their Steiner pages only from him, or from those (such as PALO) that obtained a licence to use his page layout.
jk, I agree, which is why I chose not to include clues which could enable others to figure out the filename system. I just figured, since a password, membership, or buying a CD directly is what is being used, the files would be a bit more secure.
But yes, an awesome undertaking available to the stamp community. I'm not sure I would have chose to collect worldwide without the CD I purchased from him.
