Yes Rod Thank you! Great idea! But I will only be listing Aus interpost S/A on one ebay store and 2015 to now gummed sets and singles on the other store only at present. There is another type of Australia that ebay makes good $ out of me but now they will sell outside of ebay. Plus they loose the funds per month from a feature store to the funds of a basic store. Small fish swim in huge groups. In protest I will not relist the others again on ebay. So that leaves me with the bulk of my listings being high denominations 2000 to now & interpost gummed examples only + personised stamps. That adds up to approx 275 listings + all the other stock I have which is close to 1,500 listings. What do I do with my kiloware? World kiloware is a confuseing concept on a US site. |

KGV is correct. ebay Australia eliminated fixed price listing duration choices from Feb 19. US ebay retains a complete set of choices. If such a change occurs here, I am confident that there will be some pushback form sellers. I use 30-day fixed price to retain control of listings. After listings end, I can reprice them and list them again. In my experience, the SixBit eCommerce Solution is superior to the ebay web site and provides fulfillment capabilities and sales record retention not available on ebay. I can reprice hundreds of listings in seconds using a SQL Server stored procedure I developed for the purpose. I don't believe that the ebay change is helpful or desirable. Unfortunately, other sites like HipStamp do not offer time-limited fixed price listings, but don't charge listing fees either. ebay Sync listings do end when the ebay listings end. If this change suddenly appears on the US site, will there be pushback? Here are the links to the AU and US sites: https://sellercentre.ebay.com.au/sell-your-item https://www.ebay.com/help/selling/l...tion?id=4652 |

One thing I've noticed when doing BIN listings on ebay US lately is that the duration now defaults to GTC instead of 30-days as it had previously requiring an extra step (using the drop-down menu to make the change)(I don't have a store there so I don't know if this change affects store owners). KGV - your kiloware sales could end up filling a niche on HS if no one else is selling that type of product. I still think HS would be worth a tumble, although it may take some time for buyers to catch on. Whenever I mail a purchase out to an ebay buyer, I include links to my HipStamp and HipPostcard stores, and this type of internal advertising has helped considerably. |

'All new listing will automatically be changed to Good Till Cancelled' ebay are making numerous site changes none of which I like. They also apparently changed the sold view page again. And we sellers just have to accept the changes. Nothing is new! I'm dreading the day they want to manage our payments. I think that will stuff my business altogether. I like having sales into PayPal not my bank! |

cfrphoto! Thanks Heaps for your post. Was able to read that auction was still able to have the 7 day duration listing setting. I can work with that. But below is part of the ebay chat transcript that lead me to believe that an auction listing was also Good Till Cancelled but it is not so all that for ..... 10:23:36 UTC kg5collector
To list auction totally disorangises my store work load. What happens if I list auction?

If you will under auction you will only get the duration. Nothing much will change. All this is doing my head in! |

So I looked for more info and found. When you list an item on ebay, you can choose a listing duration, which is the length of time it will show on our site.
The length of time you can list for depends on the listing format and listing tool you choose:
Listing duration options with the Quick listing tool:
Auction-style – 1, 3, 5, 7 and 10 days Fixed price – Good 'Til Cancelled
Listing duration options with the Advanced listing form:
Auction-style – 1, 3, 5, 7 and 10 days Fixed price – 3, 5, 7, 10, 30 days and Good 'Til CancelledNow back to try & sort this mess out! |

The info below is out of date. Am already on advance listing setting. OUT of date Fixed price – 3, 5, 7, 10, 30 days and Good 'Til CancelledSo now I have to eat humble pie big time! Truly I thank you all for getting me back on track. I was totally devastated by misunderstanding what was happening because of that chat information from the ebay rep! So all I have to do is list auction and I get 7 day duration. Nothing changes. So I have contacted ebay again and changed my 2 ebay stores back to feature and I will not incur any penalty. |

This may be an eBay-Australia change because I just check the eBay-US site and a seven day listing is still possible. Now, this is auction style. Perhaps you should check and see if the ebay venue you are using has the 7 day auction style listing still. Just a suggestion. |

I have a store and it is now happening to me too. Like Clark I prefer 30 days over GTC. |

From the article posted by Clark, "A potential problem for sellers who don't want to use Good Til Cancelled (GTC) listings is the extra cost. Listings with GTC duration renew indefinitely, and sellers using the Advanced listing form must presumably pay listing fees each time the listing renews." The ebay seller update did indeed confirm this so sellers need to be on top of their listings or see their ""free" fixed priced listings" depleted automatically at the beginning of the month. Hopefully, canceling listings in bulk is easier than canceling a store subscription ( ebay frequently charges for two months at a time if you don't choose the annual subscription). |

"GTC will be the only option for fixed price listings on U.S. ebay as of mid-March:" Not a happy camper. |

The pox on ebay. Nothing but auction listings for me from mid-March on. Anything that doesn't sell and everything else goes right into my HipStamp store. ... s ! |

Speaking only for myself, I prefer GTC. If there is an active market for a stamp I can use an auction, but many stamps appeal to a more limited audience and I find items listed many months ago sell all the time. It of course means I'll have fewer listings overall since the max number of free listings gets used up quickly and I'm only willing to pay a listing fee for a small number of items. My habit is to look at stamps that are ending within the next couple of days (which will automatically renew if I don't do something) - and if I think it's been long enough, I'll cancel them before the next 30 days kicks in. This way I do prune older items that never sell, but I keep up many items for longer periods of time.
Frankly, because the stamp market can be very thin for more expensive and less popular items, I've regretted using 30 day listings. I end up just relisting them. So GTC has been my habit for a few years.
That's just me. |
